Way to go Ninty (Contains Spoilers)

Sun Jul 5, 2009, 2:00 PM
Before I start I think I should warn people this entry contains info on upcoming nintendo games so if anyone doesn't want to know about them then don't read on...

Well yesturday I got the new edition of ONM (Official Nintendo Magazin) as I always do and read up on the stuff from this years E3 event and a lot of the games that were revealed look totally awesome. Heres the ones I'm most interested in:

New Super Mario Bros Wii: This is the game that surprised me most and the one I am most interested in. I love all the old Mario platformer game and NSMB on the DS was a brilliant game and this game has pretty much the same format They are basically taking the DS game and putting it on the wii with all new levels. It can even be played multiplayer where up to 4 players can play the game at the same time and they're even bringing Yoshi back and throwing in a few new power ups. Judging by the pictures and info that I've seen it looks like its gonna be an awesome game and I'm definately going to get it.

Mario Galaxy 2: Mario Galaxy is the best 3D platformer I've ever played and I was surprised when they said they couldn't fit in half the stuff they wanted to. Like with MSMB they are using pretty much the same format while throwing it lots of new things and new power ups and they are also bring yoshi in here too. It's nice to see that dinosaur get a bigger role. They say the sequel is going to be bigger and better and I am very intrigued to see how they can top it's predecessor. It's a shame it's not out till next summer.

Legend of Zelda:Spirit Tracks: A sequel to Phantom Hourglass, which was a brilliant game, the controls were very unique and different and the graphics were amazing. The gameplay was great too apart from having to repeat the same dungeon a few times in the game. This sequel uses the same format but without any repetative dungeons and they are using a train instead of a boat. Theres also a new partner for Link as well as some new abilities, new dungeons and new puzzles to solve. This game looks very interesting and definately on for my list.

Wii Fit Plus: This wont be as interesting as any of the games I've just mentioned but it still looks interesting. Wii Fit was very popular (sold 15m worldwide) so it's no surprise they're building on it. Theres a bunch of new games, yoga activities and routines to try out, all done on the balance board of course. There is also the option to include your dog if you have one by creating a "canine mii" and using your pet in certain games as well as weighing it. Since it's my parents who actually own wii fit and the balance board they may look into buying the game.

Warioware:DIY: I loved the the first DS warioware game and this one looks set to be just as good. The main thing that interests me is the fact that you can make your own minigames and send them to friends. Heck ,you can even record your own background music by singing into the microphone. Very unqiue and very interesting.

Wii Sports resort: Contemplating getting this for my 'rents anniversary as they like the original, plus this one comes with the new mtoionplus adaptor. The events look very interesting. Theres archery, cycling, frisee golf, wakeboarding, basketball and even swordplay. It looks really good.

Professor Layton and Pandoras box: Loved the popular cueious village game so this sequel should be just as good judging by what they said. New story, new puzzles, should be great if the first ones anything to go by.

Now theres also one other game that I'm both interested in and not so keen in- Sonic and Sega all-star racing. It looks to me like segas attempt at Mario Kart Wii (but it'll be nowhere near as good). The problem is, I just don't think Sonic and race cars go together, he's known for his speed so why does he need a car (look at Sonic Drift, that was a pile of shit). Having said that there are a lot of non-sonic sega characters though such as Aiai and Samba with each character having their own unique skills and vehicles. Don't know about the tracks though as only one track has been revealed- a green hill zone style track which I'd love to see as I love GHZ. This game can really go two ways, it'll either be a big success or a big disaspointment we'll see.

As you can see, Nintendo have got some incredible games lined up and I can't wait to play 'em.

Now going off topic: The thing I mentioned last entry- cancelled it. Just don't have the money right now.
